Michelle L. Hinz, a resident of Rochester, Michigan, is an award-winning artist gaining attention for her unique and diverse collection of dimensional acrylic paintings.
Michelle, a graduate of Western Michigan University, obtained a Bachelor of Science in graphic design in 1990. In 1999, she obtained a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Wayne State. After working as a graphic designer for nearly 17 years, she founded Hinz Design in 2006.
Her dimensional acrylic painting is a 5 to 7 layered time-intensive process that captures textures within the environment. This multi-layered painting technique is used to build the surface texture, which often exceeds 1/4" in depth. Each painting expresses the drama that arises when texture, shape and color interact with one another.
Michelle's artwork is unique because it appeals to many different tastes and styles. The motifs range from contemporary to traditional and appeal to a broad range of budgets. Galleries and art consultants find her products to be a time-saving resource for locating original, quality artwork. Interior designers find that using her artwork makes a space look entirely redecorated, while retailers appreciate art that sells quickly and satisfies consumers looking for something 'different'.
Michelle draws her inspiration from the creator and is thankful for the gifting she has. Her desire is that the paintings would leave the viewer with something of value and a connection to the ultimate gift giver.
Michelle's artwork is placed in corporate collections such as Freddie Mac's executive offices in New York and Virginia, as well as technology firms and professional offices throughout Michigan. Additionally, she has been featured on several televised interviews including WXYX Detroit, Channel 7 news, WSBT South Bend, Channel 22 news, and many local newspapers and magazines.
